Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how BathroomReno.com (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use BathroomReno.com (the “Site”), a directory and matching service that connects homeowners across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area with independent local bathroom renovation contractors. By using the Site, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

When you request an estimate or submit your details, we collect the information you provide, including:

  • Contact information: your name, email address, and phone number.
  • Project details:your project location (city or postal code), planning stage, bathroom type, approximate size, the updates you want, whether you're changing the layout, finish level, and timeline, together with an automated estimated cost range we calculate from those details using our own internal data and assumptions.
  • Technical and usage data:limited technical information collected automatically when you visit, such as general analytics about page views and device/browser type (see “Cookies and analytics” below).

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • match you with relevant local contractors and share your project details with them so they can respond;
  • generate and show your estimated cost range and respond to your request;
  • operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;
  • detect, prevent, and respond to spam, abuse, and fraudulent or unauthorized activity;
  • comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share your information

When you request an estimate, you submit a lead. We may share the project and contact details in that lead with up to three (3) independent contractors we match you with, so they can contact you and prepare a response. We also use trusted third-party service providers that process data on our behalf, including Supabase (database hosting and storage), Vercel (website hosting and analytics), and Google Analytics (usage analytics). We may disclose information where required by law or to protect our legal rights. When you request an estimate, we provide your project and contact details to up to three (3) independent contractors so they can contact you about your project. Contractors pay us a fee to be connected with you in this way. We do not otherwise sell, rent, or trade your personal information to unrelated third parties for their own marketing. Once your details are shared with a contractor, that contractor handles your information under its own privacy practices, for which we are not responsible.

4. IP addresses and abuse prevention

To protect our submission forms from spam and automated abuse, we apply rate limiting. We do not store your raw IP address. Instead, your IP address is converted into an irreversible, salted SHA-256 hash that is used only as an anonymous key to count submissions and enforce limits. The hash cannot be used to recover your IP address.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage of the Site (such as page views and general device type). Google Analytics may set cookies and collect usage data subject to Google's own privacy practices. This helps us improve the Site and is not used to build advertising profiles of you. Your browser settings can typically be used to manage cookies and similar technologies.

6. Data retention and security

We retain the information you submit for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, including matching you with contractors and meeting legal requirements. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information; submitted leads are stored with restricted, insert-only access and are accessible only to authorized administrators. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, including Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and you may withdraw consent to our use of it (which may limit our ability to match you with contractors). To make a request, contact us using the details below; we may need to verify your identity before responding.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version, and your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

9. Limitation

Nothing in this Policy expands our liability beyond what is set out in our Terms & Conditions and Disclaimer. We are not responsible for the independent privacy or data practices of contractors or other third parties.

10. Contact
